Introducing our newest charity partner: The Réseau des Kinésithérapeutes du Sein - RKS (Breast Cancer Physio Network)

RKS Board Members

The Réseau des Kinésithérapeutes du Sein - RKS (Breast Cancer Physio Network) was founded by 4 women,  themselves physiotherapists or patients,  in order to improve the care of breast cancer patients.

Our continuing role is that patients should have the best quality care by having breast cancer physiotherapy as part of their health care.

The importance for us is that the physiotherapist should have the correct training in order to treat patients and offer them the best care.

First and foremost the network provides support so that, irrespective of their level of experience, the physiotherapist will not find themselves alone.

We provide information and knowledge for those who wish to improve their skills and provide a means of sharing experiences, to provide quality patient care.

Webinars, meetings, and forums are organized for those health care professionals involved in patient care so that they can learn about new surgical techniques and treatments and also that surgeons, oncologists, and radiotherapists, etc., can also learn about the important benefits for the patient, to have the addition of a specialist breast cancer physiotherapist.

On our website, patients can find a listing of the specialist physiotherapists in their area, an information leaflet on reeducation, and patient testimonials, so they should not feel alone to face their questions and concerns.

Physiotherapists and health care professionals have a duty to inform about the importance of self-examinations and mammograms. It is our opinion that all physiotherapists should have knowledge of these, to inform patients irrespective of the reasons for their consultation, where appropriate.

An information campaign is being organized for all our members in 2024, with sessions on self-examination and posters designed by an illustrator who also suffered from breast cancer.

RKS now has over 1300 specialist-trained members, in France, DOM TOM, and Belgium. Our network is working hard so that each patient should always receive the correct specialist care as early as possible from appropriately trained health professionals and more widely, that the general public know how important this is for recovery.
