We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to our esteemed Medical Advisory Board, Dr. Candice N. Thompson. As a breast surgical oncologist and clinical assistant professor at Stanford University, Dr. Thompson brings a wealth of expertise and a commitment to educating on early detection of breast cancer.

About Dr. Candice N. Thompson:

Dr. Candice N. Thompson completed her training in general surgery at Georgetown University and breast surgical oncology fellowship at Stanford University. She has offices in Emeryville and Pleasanton, CA. Dr. Thompson is a fellowship-trained breast surgeon, specializing in breast-conserving (lumpectomy) and mastectomy surgeries. 

Research Focus:

Dr. Thompson's research interests encompass critical areas such as health disparities in breast cancer, applications of circulating tumor DNA for breast cancer, and advancements in surgical techniques for improving nipple sparing mastectomies. Her commitment to pushing the boundaries of knowledge in these areas has earned her multiple grants, including a prestigious Stanford Cancer Institute grant dedicated to promoting education about breast health and breast cancer.

Community Engagement:

Beyond her clinical and research responsibilities, Dr. Thompson is actively engaged in the community. She hosts monthly breast health seminars in Alameda County, providing valuable insights and information to the local community. As a co-host of the Pink Table Talk, a webinar addressing breast health for young black women, she is passionate about reaching diverse audiences and addressing healthcare disparities within breast cancer.

One of Dr. Thompson's key initiatives involves empowering individuals through education. Her dedication to promoting awareness and understanding of breast health aligns seamlessly with our commitment to providing accurate and reliable information. As a member of our Medical Advisory Board, Dr. Thompson will play a crucial role in approving any social posts, materials, or web content related to breast health information.
